Shutting Down Excel

In this section you will learn how to shut down Microsoft Excel for Mac. While this may be a simple concept, I want to make sure you understand everything.

To shutdown Excel for Macintosh you need to remember few things:

 

1. Just because you click on the red button, you have not shut down the program.

2. You need to go to the bolded EXCEL at the top-left of your screen.

3. Click on it

 

4. Scroll down to Quit Excel and click that.

5. Alternately, you can click Apple (or Command)-Q.

If you don't quit programs in the Macintosh Operating System (Mac OS), they remain open and make your computer run that much slower.
