Teacher
This webquest was created by David Cross, a teacher at the Charter
School of Morgan Hill, in an online WebQuest class through the Foothill
Junior College LINC Program and instructed by Shannon Potts and Kathie Kanaval.
The WebQuest targets 7th grade students studying World
History/Social Studies. The California Standard that applies is 7.6.6, "Discuss
the causes and course of the religious Crusades and their effects on
the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish populations in Europe, with emphasis
on the increasing contact by Europeans with cultures of the Eastern
Mediterranean world."
Additionally, I hope students learn to consider the perspective of others
as they study history (and go through life) and not to just accept what
they are told.
My students worked on this project for fifteen 50 minute
periods. Once completed, the student
work won an award at the 2005 California
Student Media & Multimedia Festival in the Middle School Social
Studies Multimedia Division.
